The Republic of Fritz Hansen Store operated by Skandium opens Wednesday 24th of August!
-Skandium is really proud to be in partnership with Fritz Hansen, the most prestigious of all Scandinavian furniture makers. Finally we can show the entire FH collection, together with a hand picked accessories assortment of the best of Danish and other international design, says the thrilled Magnus Englund, Managing Director of Skandium.
Fitzrovia is a forgotten part of London which is actually very central, just north of Soho and Oxford Circus. It's been the centre of the rag trade for many years, with fashion showrooms and people wheeling rails of clothing in the street. But now it also hosts art galleries, design and media companies, as well as some great restaurants and cafés.
- Skandium is very excited about being part of this evolving part of London, and we hope the community of Fitzrovia will take the Republic of Fritz Hansen to heart.
Architects Lewis Granaiola have taken inspiration from the Swedish detective TV series Wallander to the shop fit, based on Mr Wallander's shelving system which mixes lots of different elements. Once installed, it looks like something out of a Bond Street fashion store and gives a perfect backdrop to Skandiums accessories collection.
-Poul Kjaerholm was a great furniture designer and it's fantastic that we can show the entire Poul Kjaerholm collection by Fritz Hansen. We've also compiled a great collection of vintage Danish glass and ceramics from the 1950s and 1960s, pieces not to be found anywhere else.
