The Shanghai Dining Chair is inspired by the ancient Chinese Horseshoe Chair, a design that is thought to go back more than 700 years; armrests were found in a chair dating back to the Yuan Dynasty, a period where Marco Polo was still in China.

The back and the armrest play a central role in the chair’s construction, giving it an distinctive shape and firm support; the high back provides comforting support and the armrest effortlessly surrounds the body.

The leather's matt surface has natural markings unique to each hide, providing a fantastic tactile feel. A natural patina will evolve beautifully over time as a result of the leather's exposure to natural daylight and usage
