The Swan™ chair from 1958 was originally not done for domestic use but for a hotel lobby in Copenhagen, at the SAS Royal Hotel, whose architect was Arne Jacobsen.

Widely seen as the world's first design hotel, Jacobsen designed not only the building but also furniture, cutlery, light fittings, textiles, door handles, signage, glassware and many other details.

While the Swan works well by its own, it really comes to life in a group of two or three. It is perfectly complemented by the AJ floor light, its original 1958 companion.

    Shell in polyurethane foam with glass fibre reinforcement. The seat carrier consists of a spindle of diameter 28 mm automate steel and an assembly plate of 5 mm steel sheet. The individual parts are welded and surface treated with matt zinc. The base consists of a satin chromed, swivel centre part of welded steel tubing (diameter 38x2 mm) and a 4-star base in injection moulded aluminium. The leg ferrules are in black-grey synthetic material.

    The Swan comes with leather or fabric upholstery.

    The Swan is upholstered with cold cured foam and covered with fabric or leather. Standard fabric for the Swan includes Kvadrat Hallingdal, Tonus, Divina and Topas as well as Comfort or leather. The leather includes Classic leather (5 colours); Natural leather
    (1 colour); Elegance (3 colours) and White or Optical White leather (2 colours).

    Five-year guarantee against manufacturing defects in standard products (materials and workmanship). Wear, tear and damage to the product is not covered under this warranty.
