Cini Boeri (born in 1924 in Milan) took her degree at the Politecnico di Milano in 1951. After graduating, she worked with Gio Ponti, one of the most important Italian architects and industrial designers. Boeri has also collaborated with Marco Zanuso for long periods of time. Her projects include apartments, houses, shops, office buildings, museums and houses. Boeri has designed for Arflex, Stilnovo, Artemide, Fustial, Tre-Piu, Knoll, Misawa Homes, Magis, Fiam and Venini. In 1970 and 1979, she received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award, in 1978 and 1984 the Design Award Resources Council, in 1978 and 1984 the Roscoe Prize, in 1987 the Selection Forum Design and the ICC lifetime Achievement Award. Apart from being a furniture designer, Boeri has lectured through out Italy and abroad, including University of California, the Cranbrook School in Detroit, the Southern California Institute of Architecture, the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles, University of Berkeley, Nucleo del Deseno Industrial of Sao Paulo and the college of Architects in Rio de Janeiro. Boeri was a visiting professor at the Faculty of Architecture in her former school Politecnico di Milano 1981-83 where she lectured for courses on Architectural Planning, Industrial Design and Interior Design.
