Many people are unaware that you can easily decant white wine, and that doing so often enhances the flavours and releases the aromas.
"White wine can certainly be decanted, and a rich Chardonnay will benefit particularly," says sommelier Christian Aarø.
Eva Solo’s new decanter carafe gently decants wine through an integrated funnel, perforated with numerous small holes. As the wine flows through these holes and down the inside of the carafe, it is gently and effectively aerated. The wide surface area of the carafe further aids oxidation.
The base features a removable cooling element that should be placed in the freezer beforehand, keeping the wine nicely chilled for several hours. Tip: Always keep the cooling element in the freezer so it’s ready for unexpected guests.
