BK10 Dining Chair - untreated teak
Designed in 1959 by Danish architect Bodil Kjær, the BK10 dining chair was created as part of her groundbreaking Indoor-Outdoor Series, conceived to be durable enough to live outdoors and beautiful enough to be used inside.
Clean-lined, precise and pleasingly graphic, Bodil Kjær’s BK10 dining chair looks as good indoors as it does outside, which is exactly what the Danish architect intended. Made from solid teak, the Cubist-inspired chair is designed to patinate beautifully over time and features a fine, linear appearance despite its sturdy construction.
The chair was created in 1959 as part of a series of architecturally inspired indoor-outdoor furniture, the proportions of which were designed to relate to the surrounding environment. It features a comfortable inclined seat and back, with armrests, legs and runners that are mortised together to form two squares – a detail that is realized through expert craftsmanship.
As well as the dining chair, Kjær’s Indoor-Outdoor series comprises a lounge chair, a side table, a dining table, a two-seater lounge sofa, a swing sofa and a sunbed. All seats, chairs and beds can be supplied with slender, supportive cushions made from weather-resistant Sunbrella fabric.
