BM0488S Table Bench (Ex-display)
Carl Hansen & Son presents the BM0488S Table Bench, a shorter version of Børge Mogensen's famous BM0488 bench with the characteristic woven seat, understated details and precise craftsmanship. The series has thus become even more flexible.
Børge Mogensen created the table bench in 1958 as part of his 'building furniture concept'. Mogensen's philosophy was to design functional and durable furniture that can be adapted to changing needs and residential locations.
With its more modest dimensions, the new table bench can easily be combined with Mogensen's longer BM0488 Table Bench or BM0865 Daybed, but it also serves as an independent piece of furniture which can be used as a bench in the entrance hall, as a side table in the living room or as a bedside table.
The table bench is made of solid oak and double-woven canework, which lends the piece a solid but elegant expression. The rounded edges and beautiful mortise joints testify to the elaborate craftsmanship that characterises Børge Mogensen's style:
