Saarinen's solution of the clutter of legs was the Tulip collection, or Pedestal, which was its original name. A design waiting to happen, it was was not until Knoll supplied the technical solution that the design was possible. The Saarinen tulip chairs are available with or without arms and with a swivel action or fixed position.
